The Tide baseball team is on the road this week, and coach Mitch Gaspard said he’s expecting to be without his starting left fielder for some time.
“We knew from the get-go these are those three weeks that … Keith is competing to be the (middle) linebacker,” Gaspard told AL.com. “I think both sides want to keep him in the best position to have success on both sides. For him to really compete on that side right now, he’s got to put his time in.”
Alabama coach Nick Saban is fully supportive of Holcombe (6 feet 4, 227 pounds) trying to play another sport.
