Approaching 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, Keith Holcombe was in his No. 42 jersey. Helmet strapped, he was running through drills with the linebackers in the first spring football practice of the season.
By 6:30, with the No. 18 on his back standing in left field of Sewell-Thomas Stadium u2015 a long fly ball or two away from the football practice facility. That's how the complicated balancing act began for the Crimson Tide's two-sport athlete.
After two seasons playing just football, Holcombe wanted to get back into baseball this spring.
"To be honest, I missed it," Holcombe said.
