Alabama linebacker commit, Deontae Lawson was named a finalist for the high school Butkus Award Monday.
Lawson is one of five finalists for the award. The high school version of the Butkus Award is given annually to the top high school linebacker in the country. Dylan Moses is the last Alabama player to win the award in high school.
The Mobile Christian School product is up for the award after he had an impressive senior campaign for the Leopards. He finished the season with 101 tackles and 15 tackles for loss as an inside linebacker.
