Alabama has added former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger to its coaching staff as an analyst according to the Crimson Tide’s online staff directory. Mettenberger is the first analyst hired by Nick Saban in 2022.
The Crimson Tide saw a pair of analysts leave the program following the 2021 season as Ronald Cooper accepted the head coaching position at Long Island University and Jake Long moved on to become the linebackers coach at Oregon.
Prior to starting his coaching career, Mettenberger committed to Georgia in 2009 where he redshirted his first season and sat behind Joe Cox who is not Alabama’s tight ends coach.
