As was rumored would happen the past few days, Alabama did pull the trigger on completing its defensive staff. Last night, Nick Saban wrangled away UT-San Antonio’s excellent young defensive coordinator, Pete Golding, from the Roadrunners.
The UA press release indicates that Golding was hired as a “defensive assistant.” But, his role his not yet determined, and Golding will not join the staff until January:
Golding comes to the Crimson Tide after coaching defensive backs and handling the defensive coordinator duties at the University of Texas-San Antonio the past two seasons.
"We are pleased to have Pete and his family join our staff at Alabama," Saban said.
