While there were a lot of plays Saturday that showed the talent of some of Alabama's offensive freshmen, that one was particularly special. It was part Steve Young, part Johnny Manziel.
Tua Tagovailoa ran forward slightly to avoid one Vanderbilt defender, spun back to his right to elude another, then composed himself in the pocket and threw a perfectly-placed pass that fellow freshman DeVonta Smith caught in stride in the back of the end zone for a 27-yard touchdown.
