Alabama freshman defensive lineman Raekwon Davis has been cleared by the NCAA, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced Wednesday.
Though Davis has been practicing with the team since fall camp, which was permissible, he missed Alabama’s season-opening 52-6 win over USC last Saturday due to academic-related issues.
“Today was the first day that we knew he would be eligible,” Saban told reporters.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Davis enrolled at the school in June. A Meridian, Mississippi native, 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 11 defensive tackle and No. 84 player overall in the 2016 class.
