Back when Coach Nick Saban and the staff were recruiting defensive back Tony Brown out of Beaumont, Tx, the staff promised him that he could compete in both sports and they made well on those promises.
On Friday, Brown and the rest of his teammates qualified for first-team All-Americans after reaching the finals of the 4X100-meter relay and finishing eighth or better. Joining Brown who ran the first leg of the race, was Steven Gayle, Ahmed Ali and, Tadashi Pinder.
The Tide relay team finished in eighth with a time of 39.63 seconds. The first-place Arkansas Razorbacks logged a time of 38.
