TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Football Writers Association of America announced its 75th Anniversary All-America Team on Thursday morning. The FWAA, which was founded in 1941, has picked an annual All-America team since 1944 and created this prestigious list celebrating the association’s All-America teams from near the end of World War II through the 2014 season.
Former Crimson Tide lineman John Hannah joined all-time great linebacker Derrick Thomas as first-team selections. Earning spots on the third team are offensive lineman Barrett Jones and linebacker Lee Roy Jordan.
Hannah, a member of the 1972 FWAA All-America team, has been rated by many analysts as the greatest offensive lineman of all time.
