The community surrounding Alabama football in Tuscaloosa knows what it’s like to be affected by a horrific natural disaster. They also know what it feels like to have your fellow-man reach out and lend a helping hand when you most need it.
When the tornado of April 2011 hit Tuscaloosa, that city remembered that many folks from around the country helped in the recovery efforts to begin the healing of the city. Even students, faculty, as well as student-athletes, were greatly impacted by the storm.
“When natural disasters occur, like the catastrophic flooding in South Louisiana, football and rivalries take a back seat to providing help to those in need,” Alabama football head coach Nick Saban said.
