It’s all about the D.
One of these teams has it. The other team doesn’t. That’s likely why ESPN‘s Matchup Predictor, according to their Football Power Index, has Alabama (4-0) as a 96% favorite, while Ole Miss (2-1) limps in at a 4% chance of an upset.
Ole Miss may have a decent offense, but it’s their defense that is suspect, to say the least. They gave up 27 points to South Alabama and 23 points to TN-Martin before being slapped down for a loss by California’s 27 points.
Now, Ole Miss has to go into Bryant-Denny Stadium and face the Crimson Tide, after Alabama absolutely thrashed Vanderbilt’s offense so bad that they never crossed the 50-yard line?
