For the 2018 Alabama football recruiting cycle to be successful, the new signing class needed to load up on cornerbacks and defensive tackles. Christian Barmore surprised the Crimson Tide and surprised himself when he became a priority for Alabama football coaches.
Only about six months ago, Christian Barmore gave more thought to playing basketball than to becoming an FBS college football player. Barmore did not play football his junior year of high school. A possible school closing caused him to transfer and his new coaches discovered a potential star.
In the early summer, he committed to the local school, Temple over his only other options, Buffalo and Morgan State.
