The University of Alabama defense did its part.
Late in the fourth quarter, with time winding down, and the Crimson Tide trailing Ole Miss by six with half a yard left for the Rebels to gain before they could run out the clock, seniors Reggie Ragland and Jarran Reed held the line, stopping Jeremy Liggins for no gain after the direct snap to the 302-pound offensive lineman.
On the ensuing drive quarterback Jake Coker went 0-4, including a dropped pass by Richard Mullaney, turning the ball over on downs. Ole Miss knelt the ball and time expired on the Rebels' 43-37 win in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday night.
