The University of Alabama has so much depth at various positions on its football team, including inside linebacker.
Kane Wommack, the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator, spoke to reporters Thursday after the second practice of preseason camp in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He likes what he has in Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell, but a third name has emerged to be a starter in Wommack’s defense as a linebacker. Justin Jefferson, a former junior college transfer from Pear River Community College in Kansas, has turned it on. The former four-star from Memphis (Tenn.) is prepared to take a massive jump from 2023.
