Alabama defensive back Tony Brown qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 100-meter dash Friday.
Brown finished ninth with a time of 10.39 seconds at the NCAA East Regional at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
Brown, a two-time first-team All-American in track, finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles final at last year’s NCAA championships and eighth in the 4×100 relay in 2015 to earn the honors.
Brown, now in his fourth season with the Alabama track team, enters his senior season with the football team this fall. He is expected to start at Star, or nickelback, for the Crimson Tide.
