Alabama is racking up the verbal commitments for its 2023 recruiting class.
Caleb Downs, a five-star defensive back and No. 1 rated safety, committed to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday.
Downs chose Alabama over Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and North Carolina. He joins Tony Mitchell and Jahlil Hurley as the third 5-star defensive back for Alabama’s 2023 class. The Tide has an opportunity to have a special defensive backfield in the future for Travaris Robinson, Charles Kelly, and Nick Saban to coach. Downs becomes the 15th commitment to the class.
Alabama snatched three of the top players from the state of Georgia in Downs, Justice Haynes, and Dylan Lonergan.
