There is considerable excitement about Nate Oats’ first season as Alabama basketball head coach. A new, fast-paced game will delight fans. Oats was able to hold on to the key roster components from last season while also adding considerable talent in newcomers.
Alabama basketball fans had some of their enthusiasm damped recently when a second Crimson Tide player went down with a season-ending knee injury. First, JUCO All-American transfer, James Rojas was lost to a non-basketball injury. At 6-foot-7, Rojas had been counted on for inside defense and rebounding, plus scoring ability. He would have been the most physical player on Nate Oats’ roster.
