The 2017 NBA Draft will take place June 22. Alabama basketball may or may not be losing one of its top players for the 2017-18 season.
Key announced his decision in the tweet below:
It is significant Key has decided to not hire an agent. He will retain his amateur status and has until May 24 to make a final decision about taking part in the 2017 draft. In the interim, he can receive draft feedback from NBA teams.
Testing the draft waters does not guarantee that Key will not play for Alabama next season.
Key was named to the ALL-SEC Freshman team this year.
