Alabama baseball wins sixth straight, defeats Mercer

HUNTSVILLE | The Alabama baseball team defeated the visiting Mercer Bear, 5-3, on Tuesday inside Joe W. Davis Municipal Stadium in Huntsville.

The Crimson Tide erased an early 1-0 deficit with a three-run third inning, and received five scoreless innings from junior right-hander Will Carter to claim the victory. Winners of a season-high six consecutive games, the Crimson Tide improves to 29-24 with the victory, while the Bears fall to 29-20.

Entering in relief of starter Alex Watkins in the top of the fifth, Will Carter worked an impressive five scoreless innings, limiting the Bears to just two hits and a pair of walks, while earning his third victory of the season.
