A lifeless, listless, Crimson Tide baseball team sleepwalked through their matchup with Jacksonville State on Tuesday night and paid the price, losing 4-0 while only collecting three hits on the night. JSU won both games in the series last year, after losing 11 in a row to the Tide over the previous six seasons. Alabama fell to 18-12 on the year while JSU improved to 16-9.
Sam Gardner started on the mound for the Tide and kept a clean score card through four innings, allowing only one hit and walking two. However in the fifth he ran into trouble, starting with a walk to the leadoff man.
