MONTGOMERY -- It looked like the University of Alabama had gotten the start and the spark it wanted on Tuesday night against Auburn. But after Connor Short rounded third base, things changed.
Short was thrown out at home in the top of the first inning, and Auburn scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to take over. The Tigers handed the Crimson Tide a 10-1 loss in the Capital City Classic at Riverwalk Stadium in a nonconference matchup before an announced crowd of 7,307. Alabama (15-9, 4-2 SEC) has lost three straight midweek games, and is 1-7 against Auburn (12-13, 1-5) in Montgomery since the series moved there in 2009.
