Close but no cigar again for the Tide. After opening SEC play in Gainesville last weekend and playing the 2nd ranked Florida Gators toe to toe, but losing two of three, Bama welcomed 22nd ranked Kentucky to Sewell-Thomas Stadium this weekend for a three game set. The Cats took a 12 inning thriller on Friday by a score of 4-3 and secured the series win on Saturday, winning 9-5. Game three on Sunday was another nail-biter with Bama prevailing 4-3. The Tide is now 19-6 overall and 2-4 in league play. The Wildcats are 21-3 overall and 5-1 in the SEC.
