Eight Alabama Women and nine Alabama Men have qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene Oregon.
The NCAA Track and Field Outdoor East Preliminary was held over the last three days at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. The Tide competed in eleven events in the preliminaries.
The Crimson Tide Track and Field team made a very strong showing over the three days of competition and will be going into nationals with momentum.
The Alabama Athletes who qualified for the NCAA Championships are:
Senior Nia Barnes in the women’s hammer throw
Freshman Danielle McConnell in the women’s hammer throw
Sophomore Jeremiah Green in the men’s triple jump
Junior Ahmed Ali in the men’s 200-meter dash
Junior Katelyn Greenleaf in the 3000m steeplechase
Sophomore Hayden Reed in the discus
Sophomore Quanesha Burks in the long jump
Freshman Filippa Fotopoulou in the long jump
Junior Steven Gayle in the men’s 4×400-meter relay
Junior Cameron Hudson in the men’s 4×400-meter relay
Sophomore Jacopo Lahbi in the men’s 4×400-meter relay
Senior Alex Amankwah in the men’s 4×400-meter relay

Alabama’s track and field team will now head home to prepare for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held June 10-13 in Eugene Oregon.
