Alabama assistant Bo Davis resigns

University of Alabama assistant football coach Bo Davis officially resigned from his position as defensive line coach, the university released via statement Friday afternoon.

“Bo Davis has submitted his letter of resignation,” UA head coach Nick Saban said in a prepared statement. “We appreciate all the contributions he made to the program and wish him and his family the very best in the future.”

The statement did not list a reason for Davis’ sudden resignation.

The Tuscaloosa News reported Thursday that Davis would not be retained in his position due to an inquiry into possible recruiting violations.
