The University of Alabama softball team needed a steadying influence.
Even more, the second-ranked Crimson Tide needed to bounce back on Sunday after having an 18-game winning streak snapped the previous evening.
Alabama (20-2) got both in a 5-0 victory over Louisiana-Monroe at Rhoads Stadium. Ace Alexis Osorio was a rock in the pitching circle, returning to the form that saw her win SEC Freshman of the Year honors and second-team All-America recognition a year ago, striking out a career-high 16 batters and carrying a no-hitter into the sixth inning.
With the start of conference play looming next weekend, the timing couldn't have been better.
