Marlon Humphrey was jubilant. Moments after Alabama committed a turnover, the sophomore cornerback created one of his own. In the second quarter of Alabama's 33-14 victory over Texas A&M last Saturday, he stepped in front of Aggies receiver Josh Reynolds and leapt to intercept a pass thrown by Trevor Knight.
Humphrey exulted, slapping his chest several times.
"He threw it," Humphrey said, "and I just broke on the ball."
The play was one of the defensive highlights of the game and it came just a fortnight after Humphrey experienced perhaps his lowest moment as a member of the Tide.
