"You better pass."
"You better pass."
With those iconic words, and the even more iconic Goal Line Stand on New Year's Day 1979, Alabama great Marty Lyons ended a career at Alabama that included All-American honors, all-SEC honors, and being named the SEC's Defensive Player of the year for 1978.
He would go on to be the 14th pick in the 1979 NFL draft, and had an 11-year all-pro career for the New York Jets, joining Mark Gastineau and Joe Klecko on those infamous "New York Sack Exchange" defensive lines.
Marty's number 93 is enshrined in the Jets Ring of Honor, in Alabama lore, and his words will forever haunt Penn State quarterback Chuck Fusina.
