Six of the eight-member 2017 Alabama Sports Hall of Fame class have SEC football ties.
Kevin Turner, Ken Donahue, Jim Goostree, Jeff Herrod, Takeo Spikes and Carnell “Cadillac” Williams all were recently announced as members of the class.
Turner, Donahue and Goostree all have Alabama ties, while Spikes and Williams played at Auburn. Herrod, who’s from Alabama, played at Ole Miss.
Turner played fullback for the Crimson Tide from 1988-91 before eight seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. He died in March from CTE linked to head trauma that led to a motor neuron disease similar to ALS.
