But this is football. The sport is not conducive to playing seven-game series like basketball or baseball. And in a one-game scenario, the best team doesn't always win.
The best team certainly does not always win by two touchdowns, which as of Tuesday morning is what Alabama needs to do to beat the spread Saturday in the SEC Championship game.
As long as the Crimson Tide are favored by 13 or more points, the Bulldogs are the smart side from a gambling standpoint.
