Alabama has a long history of placing players on the nations’ All-American squads. In its 125 year history, a total of 115 players have been named to 124 first-team All-American teams. That is good for 6th in all-time in All-Americans. It has also produced 68 consensus All-Americans, also good for 6th.
However, what the Crimson Tide has done in the past decade in terms of player development has been astounding: Of those 124 first-team All-Americans, 40 of them have come since 2008. In that decade, the Tide has not produced fewer than four (4) first-team All-Americans in any year.
