The Alabama Crimson Tide struck out on landing an elite inside linebacker prospect in the 2018 recruiting class but are right at the forefront of the race for the top inside linebacker in the 2019 class.
Five-star prospect Nakobe Dean (Horn Lake, MS), the No. 1 inside linebacker in the country, told SEC Country that Alabama - along with LSU - are among two of his top five favorites right now.
“They’re the top 2 recruiting me harder compared to the other schools,” Dean said. “I definitely get a family feel every time I go there.
“I’m always big on education and whether they have my major. Also, it’s how they make me feel. If I feel like home, then I love it. That’s going to be big.”
Dean has visited Tuscaloosa several times already in the recruiting process and plans to sign with the school of his choice during the Early Signing Period before enrolling early.

While Alabama and LSU are known to be favorites, in-state schools Ole Miss and Mississippi State are also very much in the mix along with Auburn and Florida.
Along with being the top-ranked inside linebacker, Dean is ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2019 class, according to the 247sports Composite.
