Zips Swimming & Diving Heads to NCAA Championships for First Time in Program History

AKRON, Ohio – Six members of the 2016 Mid-American Conference Champion's, the Akron Zips swimming and diving program, are heading to Atlanta, Ga., to compete in the 2016 NCAA Championships for the first time in program history.

The Zips swimming and diving team ended the year ranked as the 34th best team in the nation by collegeswimming.com.

Junior Luka Szynal (Lublin, Poland), a two-time 2016 MAC Champion, earned a bid for the Championships in the 100 and 200 backstroke event. At the MAC Championships, the junior smashed the previous 200 backstroke MAC (1:53.
