AKRON, Ohio – The Akron women's tennis team kept things rolling with its 19th straight victory in a 4-3 win over Miami (Ohio) on Sunday afternoon at the Outdoor Tennis Facility on the UA campus.
The win marks the first regular season victory over the RedHawks in program history.
The Zips improve to 20-2 (4-0 MAC) with the win, while Miami (Ohio) falls to 7-9 (2-1 MAC).
Akron has won 20 matches for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
"Today is certainly a wonderful day for our program historically, with our first ever win against Miami during the regular season, but we know that we still have a great deal of work to do in order for our end goals to be achieved as a team.
