The University of Akron football team took its second consecutive conference loss Wednesday to the Toledo Rockets, 48-17, at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field in Akron. The Zips fell to 3-3 in conference play with an overall record of 5-5 on the season.
The Zips offense made big plays, but failed to consistently drive down the field and score points. Starting quarterback Thomas Woodson completed 17 of 33 passes for 338 yards to go along with two touchdowns and one interception. Woodson was able to find success early, connecting to Jerome Lane on the Zips’ first offensive play of the game for a 91-yard touchdown.
