CLEVELAND, Ohio - A driving lay-up by junior Isaiah Johnson (Cincinnati, Ohio) with 26 seconds remaining capped a 21-7 run to end to the game which lifted top-seeded Akron (25-7) to a come-from-behind 65-63 triumph past eighth-seeded Eastern Michigan (18-15) in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-American Conference Championship on Thursday, March 10, at Quicken Loans Arena.
The victory extends the Zips' streak of reaching the MAC Championship semifinals to 11 consecutive years dating back to the 2005-06 campaign.
