HAMILTON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team gave up a 5-2 decision to Miami (Ohio) in Mid-American Conference play on Sunday afternoon indoors at the Riverside Athletic Club.
With the loss, Akron fell to 13-9 overall and 3-3 in conference action while the Redhawks improved to 8-9 on the season and 3-1 in the MAC.
"I am certainly disappointed in today's outcome," head coach Brandon Padgett said. "We came out flat in doubles, and that carried over into some of our singles play as well. Ari and Sophia continue to play at a high level consistently, which is great but we have to play better collectively if we want to have a serious opportunity to contend in the MAC.
