AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over St. Bonaventure on Tuesday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center.
Akron (9-1) took the doubles point after No. 1 doubles team of Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) and Carli Knezevich (Austin, Texas) earned a hard fought 7-6 (5) win over SBU's Mara Martinez-Santori and Gabriella Bowe.
Geier also took her singles contest as well, as the Zips won five out of six singles matches against the Bonnies. At No. 1 singles, sophomore Ariadna Blinova (Riga, Latvia) claimed her eighth straight victory of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 decision against Mara Martinez-Santori.
