AKRON, Ohio- Senior Anna Tarpley (Jacksonville, Fla.) became the second Zip this season to record two home runs in a single game, helping the Akron softball team to a 6-2 win in the series finale over Central Michigan on Sunday at Lee R. Jackson Field.
The win snapped CMU's four-game winning streak.
The Chippewas took the first game of the doubleheader, 7-0.
Akron stands 16-21 overall and 5-6 in MAC play, while Central Michigan stands 23-11 overall and 8-3 in the league.
In the morning, Central Michigan scored two runs in the top of the third inning.
