Pedroso Leads Women’s Tennis in Day Two of YSU Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The University of Akron freshman Rita Pedroso (Porto, Portugal) paced the Zips women's tennis team with a 3-1 record overall on Saturday, Nov. 5 during the second day of the Youngstown State Invitational held at the Boardman Tennis Center.

"Today was a much better day for us overall," head coach Brandon Padgett said. "From a singles standpoint, we played excellent across the board. Rita played strong tennis falling in the semifinals of the A flight, and I'm excited to see her play for third place tomorrow."

Pedroso defeated Sofia Macias of Youngstown, 6-4, 6-4 before falling in a tight semifinal round to UNOH's Alisa Reshetnikova, 7u20106 (4), 4u20106, 10u20106.
