Akron's 2016 NCAA Rifle Championships Website
OXFORD, Miss. – The 16th-ranked University of Akron rifle team concluded the 2016 season with a seventh-place finish at the Great America Rifle Conference Championships at the University of Mississippi's Lamar National Guard Readiness Center on Sunday.
Top-ranked an three-time defending national champion West Virginia claimed the team title with 4,702 points, winning both the smallbore and air rifle competitions. Third-ranked Kentucky followed, while NC State, Army, and host Mississippi rounded out the top five.
Akron, which finished fourth in the team smallbore competition, was seventh overall with 4,624 total points.
