LEDBETTER, Ky. –Defending Mid-American Conference champion sophomore Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) carded a final round 2-under par 70 to lead the Akron women's golf team to a third place finish (908, +44) at Drake Creek Invitational on Tuesday.
"It was a great way to start the season," head coach Jenny King said. "We followed our game plan and played steady golf. We did a better job of making putts, which helped our scoring. As a team we were able to record some low round scores, and we are looking forward to making some adjustments in preparation for Michigan State.
