AKRON, Ohio -- Logan McLane scored 23 points on 9-for-11 shooting and Miami (OH) defeated Akron 64-62 in overtime on Saturday.
Eric Parrish's 3-point play with 36 seconds left in the extra session reduced the Zips' deficit to 61-60 before McLane followed with a quick layup. Jimond Ivey made a pair of free throws before Rod Mills Jr. made 1 of 2 foul shots and Miami led 64-62 with 20 seconds left. Ivey missed a 3-point attempt with four seconds to go to end it.
Ivey had back-to-back jumpers earlier and Akron led 57-51 with 3:17 left in regulation, but Isaiah Coleman-Lands converted a 3-point play and followed with a 3 to start a 10-0 run for Miami (15-14, 8-8 Mid-American Conference) which never trailed again.
