CLEVELAND — The University of Akron football team learned its home and away opponents for the eight-game Mid-American Conference portion of the 2016 season, the league office announced on Wednesday. Dates, times, and broadcast information for those matchups will be released at a later date.
Akron will host Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, and Western Michigan at home at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field during the 2016 football season.
The Zips will travel to Ball State, Buffalo, Kent State, and Ohio in league play.
Akron, which finished the 2015 season at 8-5 overall under head coach Terry Bowden, opens the 2016 season against Virginia Military Institute (VMI) on Thursday, Sept.
