AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron softball team and head coach Julie Jones announced the addition of student-athlete Kayla Kmett to the 2017-18 signing class on Tuesday.
Kmett will be joining the incoming class made up of Mikayla Newland (Chillicothe, Ohio) and Kayla Wulf (Maumee, Ohio).
Kmett, a pitcher from Jserra Catholic High School, was named to the first team All-Trinity league, named the Jserra Catholic player of the year, and a scholar-athlete a season ago as a junior. Inside the circle, Kmett has pitched over 228 innings work and has struck out 186 batters in her three-year career.
