Wilmington, N.C. – The Akron men's golf team fired a final round 303 (+15), but remained in the 12th overall in team scoring with a 936 (+72) 54-hole total at the par-72 Country Club of Landfall for the Seahawk Intercollegiate on Monday.
Kent State won the team championship with an 857 (-7) three-round total, while KSU golfers Josh Whalen and Gisli Sveinbergsson claimed top honors. Whalen earned medalist honors with three rounds of under-par golf, finishing 9-under par with a 207 tournament total, and Sveinbergsson was runner-up with 5-under par 211 performance.
