Greenville, S.C. – The Akron men's golf team posted a 296 (+8) opening round team score at the 48th annual Furman Intercollegiate on Friday.
Furman is hosting the event at the par-72, 6,994-yard Furman University Golf Cousre. The 54-hole event spans three days, and Georgia Southern sits atop the team standings with a 279 (-9). In addition, Georgia Southern's Brett Barron fired a 9-under par 63 score to set the tournamnet's all-time lowest round record. He currently leads the individual scoring by three strokes.
