Pittsburgh’s defensive front hasn’t gotten a ton of love this season, but entering Week 9, the Panthers have allowed the fewest rushing yards in the ACC, one of just seven FBS teams holding the opposition to less than 100 yards per game.
On the flip side, through all of Virginia Tech’s success so far this year, there’s one big red flag on offense: The ground game really hasn’t gotten going. The Hokies are averaging 3.77 yards per rush on non-QB runs, which ranks 121st among FBS teams. Nearly a quarter of all handoffs go for a loss or no gain.
