The attorney for North Carolina cornerback Allen Artis announced on Thursday sexual assault charges against his client have been dropped.
Per ABC 11 News, attorney Kerry Sutton made the announcement regarding Artis at a press conference.
"I'm thankful this process is finally over," Artis said at the press conference. "It's been a long time. It's a bit overwhelming right now."
According to the report, district attorney Jim Woodall said the charges were dropped after the case had been "resolved to the satisfaction of both parties."
Artis was accused of sexual assault and battery against a female in February 2016 and he turned himself into police in September after a misdemeanor warrant was issued for his arrest.
