Smart move utilizing Jacques Patrick, who's impressing Florida State with toughness

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- When Jacques Patrick signed with Florida State, the expectation was the 6-foot-2, 231-pound running back would soon shoulder the short-yardage and goal-line responsibilities.

Patrick rushed for 314 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman, but Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher felt Patrick didn’t run with the power and violence he expected. Throughout this past offseason, Fisher pushed Patrick to be the physically imposing running back he was signed to be in 2015. He was slotted as the bruising complement to Dalvin Cook, the best player on No. 3 Florida State.
