NC State was billed as a potential ACC sleeper at the beginning of the season. With three games left in the regular season, the Wolfpack’s season is teetering between disappointing and encouraging.
Considering the talent Clemson and Florida State were replacing and the clear roster upgrades coach Dave Doeren has made, NC State was a dark-horse candidate to make noise in the Atlantic Division. Well, it took two ACC games to figure out the Wolfpack had about as much of a chance to win the division as Maryland. They began ACC play 0-2, losing to teams that were a combined 1-6 against FBS teams at the time.
